Festival «Musiques et Danses d’Asie»
2010
Montréal, June 9, 2010 - Asian colors and rhythms are converging in the
enchanting scenery of the Chinese Garden in the 12th edition of “Musiques et
Danses d’Asie” presented by Festival Accès Asie in collaboration with the Chinese
Garden of the Botanical Garden and la Société du Jardin de Chine de Montréal.
The Festival runs from Thursday, July 8th to Sunday, July 11th at 1:30pm, 2:30pm
and 3:30pm.
Artists such as Shen Qi, Deepali Lindblom, Siamak Nasr, Hua Yun, Arashi Daiko,
Panday Tinig Choral Ensemble and Hailin Sun performing three times a day will
give the audience a chance to discover the beauty of traditionally based Chinese,
Indian, Persian, Japanese and Philippine music and dance. This event attracts
more than 2,500 visitors every year.
Founded in 1995 to celebrate Asian Heritage Month, Accès Asie formed in
response for a need to increase the presence of Asian arts in Quebec’s cultural
landscape.
